Our 2024 Cadillac LYRIQ Review

Our 2024 Cadillac LYRIQ Review

Let's begin our Cadillac LYRIQ vs. BMW iX vs. Audi Q4 e-tron by examining the trims, specs, and safety features of the 2024 Cadillac LYRIQ. This SUV packs technology and innovation into a sleek, modern package. By introducing One-Pedal Driving capability and the Regen on Demand function, the new Cadillac LYRIQ offers one of the most tech-forward driving experiences on the market. The LYRIQ delivers its all-electric sophistication across three intuitive trim options:

  • 2024 Cadillac LYRIQ Tech
  • 2024 Cadillac LYRIQ Luxury
  • 2024 Cadillac LYRIQ Sport

Every trim offers a choice of RWD and AWD drivetrains for ultimate versatility. The Cadillac LYRIQ Tech trim features a 33-inch diagonal advanced LED display, Google built-in technology, Wi-Fi Hotspot capability, wireless phone charging, and a fixed full-glass roof with a power sunshade.

Choose the Luxury trim to gain a Cadillac LYRIQ interior with a power panoramic sunroof, front lumbar massage, Nappa leather upholstery, and an AKG® Studio 19-speaker audio system. Inside the Sport trim, you'll find all the standard and available Luxury trim features, plus exterior upgrades like Obsidian Chrome finishes and a unique Sport illuminated front grille.

The Cadillac LYRIQ Specs

The Cadillac LYRIQ specs generated by the 255 kW single-motor RWD powertrain are undoubtedly capable of delivering a thrilling drive. This system produces 340 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque. Boost your capability and adrenaline with the 373 kW dual-motor AWD powertrain for 500 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque. To put these numbers into perspective, the Cadillac LYRIQ also has a near 50/50 weight distribution, a low center of gravity, and an electric propulsion system that delivers near-instant torque for exhilarating acceleration. This is tremendous power.

If you'd like to put your SUV to work on weekend adventures, the AWD motor provides a Cadillac LYRIQ towing capacity of 3,500 pounds.1 Equally as impressive is the Cadillac LYRIQ fuel efficiency, because as a fully electric vehicle, this SUV gives you an EPA-estimated 307-mile range2 with AWD and an incredible 314-mile range2 with RWD.

For ultimate driving confidence, the 2024 Cadillac LYRIQ comes equipped with the Cadillac Smart System's suite of safety features that include Reverse Automatic Braking, Blind Zone Steering Assist, and LED Reflective Windshield Collision Alert that flashes red on your windshield to draw your eyes to the road when front collision threats are detected.

Our 2024 BMW iX Review

Our 2024 BMW iX Review

This new BMW iX also positions its battery for a low center of gravity, giving you more controlled handling. The exterior styling of the new BMW iX models can be polarizing: Some find it modern and eye-catching, while others dislike the double-oval grille that dominates the front end. The 2024 BMW iX is available in three trims:

  • 2024 BMW iX xDrive50 Convenience
  • 2024 BMW iX xDrive50 Premium
  • 2024 BMW iX M60 Performance

If you're looking for a budget-friendly SUV, the BMW iX isn't it. With a starting MSRP that is several tens of thousands higher than that of the Cadillac LYRIQ, the new iX is definitely an investment. The BMW iX interior features SensaTec, microfiber and wool-blend cloth, and Amido perforated leather upholstery, depending on your trim choice.

Inside the xDrive50 Convenience trim, you'll find wireless device charging, a configurable 12.3-inch instrument cluster, and a 14.9-inch central information display. A Harman Kardon® sound system pairs with Iconic Sounds Electric, and Ambient Lighting has customizable shades.

Choose the xDrive50 Premium Trim

Choose the xDrive50 Premium trim to add Personal eSIM 5G, multifunctional seats, and an interior camera. The M60 Performance trim doesn't increase the interior technology of the vehicle but instead gives you exterior upgrades like 22-inch wheels, Pearl Chrome highlights, and Adventurin Red Metallic paint.

Beneath the hood of both xDrive50 models, you'll find dual-electric motors that generate 516 horsepower and 564 pound-feet of torque. For much better performance – and a much higher price tag – choose the iX M60 Performance trim to gain 610 horsepower and 811 pound-feet of torque.

While the dual-motor Cadillac LYRIQ AWD can tow small sporting equipment, the BMW iX towing capacity isn't available because it isn't rated for towing. BMW iX fuel efficiency gives you an EPA-estimated 307 miles3 of electric range with the Dual All-Electric motor of the xDrive50 trims, or choose the Dual High-Performance engine of the iX M60 for an EPA-estimated 296 electric miles.3

Safety features inside the BMW iX include multiple parking assistance features, Safe Exit, Acoustic Pedestrian Protection, and a Head-Up Display with Video Augmented Reality for navigation in the xDrive50 Convenience trim. Gain a Surround View camera system with 3D View in the xDrive50 Premium.

Our Audi Q4 e-tron Review

Our Audi Q4 e-tron Review

The slightly taller front end of the new Audi Q4 e-tron gives this SUV a rather boxy exterior, but its smooth profile presents a modern look. The Audi Q4 e-tron gives drivers three trims to choose from:

  • 2024 Audi Q4 e-tron Premium
  • 2024 Audi Q4 e-tron Premium Plus
  • 2024 Audi Q4 e-tron Prestige

The Audi Q4 e-tron interior is consistent across trim levels, with a power panoramic sunroof, LED interior lighting, leather seat upholstery, and heated front seats coming standard in both the Premium and Premium Plus cabins. An Audi Sound System and Audi Smartphone Interface provide media integration, and a leather steering wheel with regeneration paddles gives you braking control. The Prestige trim upgrades your cabin to feature a SONOS Premium Sound System.

The Premium trim

By choosing the Premium trim, you'll have two powertrain options: a 40 e-tron battery-and-motor system with standard RWD and 201 horsepower or a 50 e-tron quattro with 295 horsepower and 339 pound-feet of torque.4 You'll find 40 e-tron and 50 e-tron quattro engines that generate the same respective horsepower in the Premium Plus trim as well, and the top-tier Prestige is only available with the 50 e-tron quattro engine.

Because the Audi website doesn't publish the Audi Q4 e-tron towing capacity, we aren't sure which engine the 2,650 pounds4 of towing listed on other reputable sites applies to. It seems most likely, however, that the 50 e-tron quattro would deliver this spec. While the automaker boasts about its Audi Q4 e-tron fuel efficiency, this SUV offers the lowest range of the group, with the 40 e-tron RWD engine only generating an EPA-estimated 265-mile5 electric range and the 50 e-tron quattro AWD powertrain providing an even less impressive EPA-estimated 236 electric miles.5

Safety features are not plentiful in the Audi Q4 e-tron. Parking System Plus, Audi pre sense front, Lane Guidance, and a rear-view camera outline the safety and driver assistance features of the Audi Q4 e-tron Premium and Premium Plus trims, while the Prestige trim gives you access to Progressive Steering.
