2026 Cadillac LYRIQ Vs. 2026 BMW iX | Range, Cargo Space, Specs

2026 BMW iX Hero

The Cadillac LYRIQ vs. BMW iX matchup pits two all-electric SUVs against each other. Both are luxury vehicles with two rows of seats. As electric vehicles (EVs), they can help you save money over time – neither car requires gasoline to drive or routine oil changes, after all. However, it’s likely that only one of these cars will be the right fit for you. The Quantrell Cadillac team has put this page together to help you determine which model is worth adding to your garage.

Cadillac LYRIQ vs. BMW iX: Performance Specs

Cadillac LYRIQ Specs

The 2026 Cadillac LYRIQ is available with several powertrain configurations. The standard single-motor setup uses a 102-kWh battery and rear-mounted motor system to produce 365 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque. This luxury SUV’s handling is refined and sharp – you’ll rule the road from the front seat of your new Cadillac.

The other powertrain option is the dual-motor, all-wheel-drive setup. It adds a front motor and raises the horsepower output to 515 and the torque to 450 pound-feet. This model has even more compelling acceleration capabilities and features a maximum towing capacity of 3,500 pounds when properly equipped.

Want to really get the adrenaline pumping? The Cadillac LYRIQ-V is a sport-tuned variant of this high-tech EV, boasting 615 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque. Unleash all this power on the track, and get ready to go from zero to 60 mph in just 3.3 seconds.

The LYRIQ features an advanced regenerative braking system that allows for one-pedal driving in many scenarios. When you let up on the accelerator, the vehicle’s motors begin to run in reverse. This feature helps to supplement your battery’s charge as it slows the vehicle, encouraging greater range efficiency.

BMW iX Specs

The 2026 BMW iX is also available with various powertrain configurations. The entry-level BMW iX xDrive45 has front- and rear-mounted motors and a 100.1-kWh battery; it produces 402 horsepower. The upgraded model is the BMW iX xDrive60. It makes 536 horsepower – at a very steep MSRP increase compared to that of the upgraded Cadillac LYRIQ.

Finally, if you’re willing to shell out even more, the BMW iX M70 features 650 maximum horsepower, manifesting in a 3.6-second 0-60 mph time.

The Cadillac LYRIQ vs. BMW iX performance comparison seems to tilt in favor of the BMW SUV, due to its increased output, but this isn’t the entire story. For starters, despite generating a bit more power than the Cadillac LYRIQ-V, the BMW iX M70 is still 0.3 seconds slower while racing to the 60 mph mark, which is an important factor to consider when selecting a performance-oriented, all-electric SUV. When it comes to towing, you’ll have the same 3,500-pound limit with either of these luxury sport-utes.1,2

It’s also worth noting that the entry-level BMW iX costs tens of thousands of dollars more than the comparable Cadillac model. The BMW iX M70 and Cadillac LYRIQ-V price difference tells a similar story. Our team certainly doesn’t think that an increase of 35 horsepower and a slower 0-60 time warrants so much more of your hard-earned money – do you?

BMW iX vs. Cadillac LYRIQ: Range and Charging

Cadillac LYRIQ Range

Cadillac LYRIQ Range

The rear-wheel-drive 2026 Cadillac LYRIQ scores an EPA-estimated 326-mile range on a single charge.3 If you opt for the all-wheel-drive model, you’ll enjoy an EPA-estimated range of 319 miles with a fully charged battery.3 For drivers excited to try the LYRIQ-V, you’ll get an EPA-estimated 285 miles of driving range.3 These numbers are quite competitive for the crossover electric SUV vehicle segment.

There are a few ways to charge your new LYRIQ EV. If you use a DC fast charger – many are publicly available all over the country – then you can regain 86 miles of range in about 10 minutes.4 If you use an 11.5-kW Level 2 AC charging connection, you’ll get about 31 miles of range in an hour.4 The available 19.2-kW upgrade allows you to refill up to 50 miles of range in an hour.4

BMW iX Range

BMW iX Range

The new BMW iX has all-electric driving range estimates that are comparable to the Cadillac LYRIQ. For instance, the 2026 BMW iX xDrive45 scores up to an EPA-estimated 312 miles on a single charge.5 Meanwhile, the BMW iX xDrive60 model can potentially go as far as an EPA-estimated 364 miles,5 but it only has a 318-mile range5 on the lower end. As for the BMW iX M70, it’s range is estimated anywhere to between 282 and 303 miles, depending on the configuration, according to the EPA.5 While these scores are perhaps more or less on par with the Cadillac SUV’s, the LYRIQ does have an edge in this respect when you consider its significantly lower starting price compared to that of the BMW SUV.

The BMW iX xDrive45 is estimated to charge from 10% to 80% in 34 minutes using a DC fast charger.6 The automaker also says it can charge up to 78 miles in 10 minutes,6 which is a good deal less than the Cadillac LYRIQ.
