The 2026 XT5 doesn't disappoint, with two power levels, front- and all-wheel drive, and available sport tuning – all aspects that have contributed to various third-party accolades for the nameplate. The refined new Cadillac XT5 gives you a choice between two powerful engines. The standard unit in the entry-level XT5 Luxury is a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that makes 235 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. At the second tier – the XT5 Premium Luxury – you'll have the option to swap this out for a 3.6-liter V-6 that ups the ante to 310 horsepower and 271 pound-feet of torque.
Both of these models come with a front-wheel-drive layout, but all-wheel-drive is available for either. Additionally, you'll have a nine-speed automatic Cadillac XT5 transmission no matter the model and engine.
However, if you're looking for a performance-focused ride, we suggest opting for the range-topping XT5 Sport. This variant comes standard with the V-6 engine and upgrades the vehicle's driving dynamics in various ways. For instance, with an XT5 Sport, you'll get a performance suspension with chassis damping and yaw control, providing improved handling and a more comfortable ride.

However, if you plan to take a boat out or bring along larger camping equipment, we recommend the V-6 engine and Smart Towing Package – this combination will let you pull up to 3,500 pounds1 behind your luxury SUV.
Fuel economy is one area where the more robust V-6 doesn't have the advantage. Models with the turbocharged engine and front-wheel drive will give you the highest MPG rating of the bunch.
